Contribution

During my time at Innocv, driven by my passion for technology and its power to improve people’s lives, a group of colleagues and I decided to form an independent development team alongside our regular work, with the goal of helping teammates from different departments solve complex or time-consuming problems through technology.

The team covered every role needed to run a full SCRUM cycle (iOS, Android, Web, Backend, SM, PO, QA, etc.), with me as the lead and sole responsible for the iOS area.

We did all this voluntarily, in downtime or on our own time, and one of the projects that came to life was this very one — ‘Dolibarr’:

As a team, we wanted to help everyone — ourselves included — streamline the daily hassle of clocking in and out of the workday, while also exploring new technologies and frameworks purely out of curiosity and enthusiasm.

To that end, we chose to build with SwiftUI, Apple’s then brand-new UI framework, which had barely been on the market at the time.

The app worked by automating the clock-in/out process through a JavaScript web client that handled time tracking, allowing users to log their entry and exit with just two taps.

Since remote work wasn’t common back then, we also built a geolocation feature that would automatically clock you in or out whenever your device entered or left a 10-metre radius around any of the company’s offices, with a push notification to confirm the action.
